The company is principally involved in servicing the refineries, cracking plants and utilities supply plants for the original and expanded Sixth Naphtha Cracking Project. | Established in 1996, the company has been organized to coordinate with the government¡¦s plan to privatize the power generation industry. Mailiao Power Coporation was formed through a joint investment by FPC, NPC, FCFC and FPCC, with each company owning 25% holdings. The planned capacity of the five large-scale thermal power generation sets, each of which has a capacity of 600,000 KW, gives a total of 3,000,000 KW. The generated power will be linked to the power supply network operated by the Taiwan Power Corp., to alleviate the domestic power shortage problem. | Jointly established by FPC, the Central Investment Company and the Chinese Petrochemical Corporation in 1979, with the first two holding a 49% share and the Chinese Petrochemical Corporation 2%. | MHA was jointly established by FPC, NPC, FCFC, FPCC and FHI in 1993, as a part of the Sixth Naphtha Cracking Project and its expanded plant. FPCC holds a 45% interest while FPC, NPC and FCFC each hold 18% and FHI holds the remaining 1%. The company is responsible for planning, construction and administration of harbor facilities to serve the Sixth Naphtha Cracking Complex and the immediate vicinity of the plant. | Established in 1991 to bring together construction technology and planning, design capacity, experience and accumulated applications from FPC, NPC and FCFC. Each of these three companies holds one third share. FHI is mainly engaged in the production of chemical equipment, plastics processing machinery, fiber processing machinery and industrial rubber rolls; transport and lifting of heavy equipment, geological improvements, corrosion resistant rubber linings, precision gears and gear reducers for various industries, boilers, co-generation systems, automatic transportation machinery, automatic storage and retrieval systems, anti-pollution equipment, and planning, designing, fabrication and installation of whole-plant automated production or processing plants. Capitalization in 2008 was NT$8.416 billion.

| Established in 1995 as a joint venture by Komatsu Electronic Metals Co., Ltd. of Japan (renamed as SUMCO Techxiv), Asia Pacific Investment Company and FPC. Now SUMCO Techxiv holds the majority share at 48.85%, with Asia Pacific Investment having 17.04% and FPC 29.06%. The company produces 8-inch and 12-inch silicon wafer, and has a monthly production capacity of 340,000 and 90,000 pieces, respectively. Capitalization in 2008 was NT$6.4 billion. ¡@ |

| Established in 1999 as a joint venture by Daikin Industries, Ltd. of Japan and FPC while each holds 50% shares. The company¡¦s major products are wet etching agent for semiconductors, including aqueous hydrofluoric acid (semiconductor grade) with a yearly capacity of 3,700 MT, buffered hydrofluoric acid with a yearly capacity of 1,800 MT and ammonium fluoride with a yearly capacity of 2,200 MT. Capitalization in 2008 was NT$465 million.
